Welcome to ReelFlow
Welcome to the very first article here on the ReelFlow blog!
With most of the articles we post here, we’re going to be taking a video-first approach and you can watch a version of this through the ReelFlow player you see above, however if you prefer to read then here you go!
3 reasons why we’re excited to be building ReelFlow
1. The product & market opportunity
We believe we’re building ReelFlow at the intersection of three major shifts in how businesses and buyers operate:
- the increasing popularity of video - the web’s most popular content format, we’re consuming more video online that ever before however businesses are still just scratching the surface of video’s potential
- the rise of Generative AI - this is unlocking vast new capabilities as we know, and when combined with video there are some incredibly exciting opportunities for innovation (think rapid editing and production, personalisation, localisation and beyond…)
- the importance of the humans behind a brand - in this increasingly AI-first era, I believe that businesses who are able to truly humanise their brands and harness the power of their actual people will outperform those that can’t, and video is the ideal way of achieving this
2. An unfair advantage?
Andy and I are now third time founders having previously started, grown and exited our previous businesses. We’ve been working together for nearly 20 years since meeting at University and over the course of our careers to date, we’ve been fortunate enough to work with a vast range of incredible people and amazing customers.
This time round with ReelFlow, we’re excited to be partnering with Blissgrowth venture studio, a team of very experienced founders and operators who we’re collaborating closely with during these early stages of our growth. We’ve secured some initial funding and between us all, have a great network of potential ReelFlow customers, partners and smart folks to join the team.
3. Rested & raring to go
After working flat out for over 15 years on our previous startups, Andy and I were fortunate enough to both be in a position to take some extended time off following our exit from Integrate after the acquisition of Akkroo.
The last 2 years have given us both the opportunity to reflect on our experiences, enjoy time out away from work and recharge our batteries. We both knew we’d co-found a business together at some point and are excited to be joining forces once again with ReelFlow, very much ready for the next chapter in our careers.
