With preparing and launching the first major update to the Flow Builder this year, February has been a busy month. In addition to this important release, we've also been working hard to refine the user experience. Here’s a summary of what’s new:
Flow Builder Enhancements
The Flow Builder saw several key upgrades aimed at improving usability, flexibility, and overall content creation experience.
- Auto-Save, Undo/Redo & Versioning – These features were released earlier this month and are detailed in our dedicated blog post.
- Saving Incomplete Flows – You can now save Flows even if they contain example content, removing an obstacle to working iteratively.
- Pre-flight Checks & Publishing – We’ve introduced pre-flight checks when publishing flows (with some neat animations!), ensuring we help you fix any mistakes before you go-live, and ensuring a smoother and more polished final result on your website.
- Preview Mode Updates – The preview experience has been improved to always display the latest version (working copy) of a Flow.
- UI & Performance Improvements – Various small UI refinements, including more clearly communicating the current Flow status, a less intrusive button when deleting steps, and immediate saving when renaming Flows.
Player & Video Experience Improvements
Several updates were made to the video player to enhance customization, accessibility, and performance.
- Default Audio Preferences – By popular demand! A new workspace setting that allows you to set the default audio/sound preference for the overlay Player.
- Performance Upgrades – The way we show video thumbnails around the dashboard has been optimised for faster page load times.
Dashboard & UI Improvements
We’ve continued refining the Dashboard to make navigation smoother and workflows more intuitive.
- Sidebar Navigation Updates – You can now lock, close, or unlock the sidebar to suit your working layout preference.
- Searching, Filtering & Table Enhancements – The Flows table now has filtering options, and has been improved for overall better usability.
- User Timezone Support – You can modify how times are shown across your account with the timezone preference, ensuring accurate date and time formatting across the Dashboard.
- Error Pages – We’ve implemented nicer error messaging and improved the guidance to any person encountering problems.
Looking Ahead
These updates are just the beginning. We’re continuing to refine ReelFlow based on user feedback and have more exciting enhancements in the pipeline. Stay tuned for March’s updates, where we’ll be focusing on even more refinements to content workflows and automation.
